私の作品は「私自身」を表現しているものではない。

作品の始まりにある言葉たちは、「枕詞」として物語（写真）の佇まいを伝えるために、序曲として詩的に紡がれる。

日本の概念特有の、一言では言い表すことのできない、余白が作品への入り口になる。

「だれか」という特定の「私」ではなく、あなたの「気配」が佇むことのできる「どこか」へ。

私が何者であるかを映す鏡ではなく、あなた自身と作品群の対話が始まるために。

My work is not an expression of a personal 'my self'.

The words at the beginning of each series are spun as Makurakotoba—a poetic prelude to convey the presence within the story of the photographs. The entrance to the work lies in the Yohaku (a receptive expanse for the imagination)—a concept unique to Japan that cannot be expressed in a single word.

Rather than being an expression of a specific 'individual'—'someone'—it is a 'somewhere' where your own presence resides.

It is not a mirror to reflect who I am, but a space for a dialogue between you and the work to begin.
